focus.

“The more we try to do, the less we actually accomplish.” ― Chris McChesney

Pick a number between 1 and 10. Yes, right now…

Now write your number six separate times and add one zero next to each. Now add them up.

90 + 90 + 90 + 90 + 90 + 90 = 540

Now, write that same number one time and add six zeros.

9,000,000

Which is greater?

Our lives, leadership, and teams are similar. We only have a finite number of zeros in our energy bank accounts. How do you want to use yours?

When we add, we diffuse time, energy, creativity, and drive over the sum.

When we focus, our energy compounds.

I know… I know... Busyness feels so good. It can make us feel fast, productive, and give an accomplishment high. However, I might submit that most of us, when asked, say ‘we’re busy’ because we don’t even remember what we’re so busy doing.

Maybe we would all make a greater impact if we did less... for more.

In your life and leadership:

How do you want to use your zeros?

Where do you have the opportunity to refine your focus for more impact?
